Job Description
The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of conservation volunteers, has an exciting and professionally challenging leadership opportunity in our Conservation Team program based at our national headquarters in Charlestown, New Hampshire. We are seeking a National Director who will lead a dedicated staff in the development and implementation of mission driven conservation service opportunities for SCA members, field staff and agency partners.

The National Director of Conservation Teams oversees all aspects of program operations including risk management, staff hiring and development, budgeting ($12M), evaluation and reporting. Key to the success of this position is the ability to lead the development of new SCA conservation team programs and partnerships throughout the United States.

Skill Requirements
Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree plus significant additional coursework, seminars or similar activities or advanced degree
•8-10 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position
•Significant staff management experience with emphasis on geographically dispersed staff
•Confident management skills including analysis, budgeting and organizational process improvement
•Marketing and significant program management experience required
•Solid and confident business skills including analysis, budgeting and process improvement. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic/annual planning and budgeting process
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with all levels of staff within the organization
•Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
•Strong working knowledge of MSOffice and familiarity and proven ability to work with information databases
•Wilderness First Aid or responder certification preferred
•Willingness to travel (30%); Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
•Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
•Must be willing to support SCA’s mission and organizational values
