The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is the oldest conservation organization in the U.S. Founded in 1876, the AMC promotes the protection and wise use of the trails, rivers and mountains of the Appalachian region. The AMC merges recreation, conservation and education in its work and offers a myriad of opportunities and services to those interested in the out of doors. Based in Boston, MA, the AMC operates educational facilities in New Hampshire.
