Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is a nonprofit organization working with communities to preserve unused rail corridors by transforming them into trails, enhancing the health of America’s environment, economy, neighborhoods and people. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy advocates at local, state and national levels for policies that support trails and greenways for transportation, recreation, conservation and as an integral part of livable communities. Founded in 1986, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy’s national office is located in Washington, D.C., and we maintain regional offices in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
